11/7/09 07:20 pm - RP scene for mainly Dexter and Hei! A start to a new on-going RP verse?

Who: Hei/Li Shengshun, Dexter Morgan, and Mao's going to appear later on...

What: A chance encounter for Hei and Dexter to meet while blending in at a public place. Hmn, how will it that go? Let's find out!!

Where: at a restaurant in Miami, Florida

Warning(s): There will be some maturely themed elements. Also to mention Dexter's twisted sense of humor in the narration, here and there.

The plot starts here... )

7/14/09 04:37 pm - Justprompts; List ten things that annoy you about other people.

Alright, fair enough. In no particular order...

1. Tourism in Miami--Honestly this city is so hot, humid, and of course the natives drive like maniacs. Miami Beach is just a beach. Although if it was for the Cuban and Mexican places, I wouldn't consider that very bright. Although I've lived here my whole life (and love it), I'm certain that there are restaurants, diners, and cafes that have just as nice places. So, no, not an ideal vacation spot, and definitely not for the faint of heart. I just don't quite get it, apart from how it could make some businesses in traveling earn large wages.

2. Why do people say they can do something for you, and then never get around to doing it? It's so rude, the lazy oafs. Once I start something, I often feel I must finish it. Even if it's something I don't want to do, usually there's always some good that comes out of it.

3. People who do not keep track of their animal companions is sometimes annoying. I respect people who keep their pets fenced in, on leashes, harnesses, in carriers, or being picked up over letting them run free. Animal deaths out on the freeways can be just as unpleasant as human corpses left by killers out to rot under the sun. I say this on experience in being a forensics geek for over ten years.

4. For any boat owners out there? It's best to keep them neat and well maintained. I like going out to fish or just out on a cruise out on the marina. Part of keeping the boat is having to look out for it. Not that I see many dirty or broken boats out on the docks. This is rare. A boat is like a car, in a way. You have to make sure not to overheat the engine, and check the fluids once a week. And take it out once in a while. Too much idle time and the boat will start to break down from the inside.

5. I like to read the newspaper a little more than watch the news on television. It prevents a lot of the repeating of the same news stories over and over. (Also, I like to not overuse my electricity.) And sometimes I just like the quiet that comes along with the reading. It's a little unnerving when the mail delivery guy is very late. Yes, he's got a life apart from his job, and this is seldom seen. When it does happen, it sort of worries me. I like routine stuff like receiving the mail the moment it comes.

6. When people say or do stupid and idiotic things in general. I often don't know how to react to stupidity. Should I be pitying? Should I be laughing, what? I often end up ignoring them.

7. It's probably just me, but I like to be neat and organized. Very messy people in general I dislike. If no one can take care of their belongings the way they should, then how on Earth do they take care of themselves, or even sleep at night?

8. Tornadoes and very foul weather. They're so disrupting when it comes to routine, also to mention dangerous. At times they can be quite exciting, but it just means more mess in the end.

9. Telemarketers. Like most people, I get annoyed by them. If I need to buy something, I just go out and get it. Automatic machine messages are the worst, especially when there's no number button to press to place you on the Do Not Call List.

10. When people are keeping me from my needs, such as food and sleep. Everybody needs that. Forcing yourself to stay up with gallons of caffeine isn't healthy.

7/7/09 07:05 pm - Google Meme that was found on [info]dial_a_psychic

Insert your name and "likes to" (all in quotes, e.g. "[INSERT FIRST NAME] likes to") in a search engine and post the first ten to pop up:

1. Dexter likes to duct-tape people to a flat surface and slowly cut them into pieces.

2. Dexter likes to go to that coffee house in "headphase"...?

3. Dexter likes to get outside of his comfort zone, in many ways.

4. Mr. Dexter likes to compare himself with centrist NDP governments.

5. Dexter likes to be needed, as well as to cherish and protect his loved ones, of whom he is somewhat possessive.

6. Dexter likes to be helpful so while Dad watches TV or reads, Dexter gives him a quick shampoo with some vigorous exfoliation.

7. Dexter likes to call this column one of two things: Reality Check or Grow a Sack!

8. His father learns that Dexter likes to kill animals and develops a sort of "code" that Dexter must follow so that he doesn't kill innocent people.

9. Dexter likes to keep things as simple and clearcut as possible.

10. Maybe Dexter likes to hear me yell!

...

That was just absurd. A lot of those are definitely not true. I don't kill people! That's crazy, disturbing and...ew. And I actually don't like hearing people yell in my face. I don't even know what NDP governments are... Only a few on this list are true. 3 and 5 are quite accurate. 7 is a possibility.

7/4/09 11:10 pm - Happy Independence Day, Deborah.

Who: Dexter and Deborah Morgan
When: Now
Where: At Deb's office at Miami Dade

Ten minutes. Not a second more, sister dear... )

Have you ever performed CPR, mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, or the Heimleich maneuver on someone in an emergency?

I actually did have to do mouth-to-mouth to revive my own step-sister from drowning once. We were in her squad car in a high speed highway pursuit, trying to stop this man who liked to turn men into wiggling, howling flesh pillows.

It's quite an interesting story, this event. Deb and I were flying off the road, and landed upside down in the car. The airbags deployed and stunned me pretty good. I almost drowned first, and Deborah was very much alive when I was trying to get her out. (She tried to give me an impromptu haircut by pulling at it.)

I had to resuscitate her shortly after dragging her out from the vehicle. She was throwing up a lot of water, in which was great; better than breathing it. I know we all can do many things, but breathing underwater is not one of them.

In the end everything worked out. Deborah broke her collar bone, I lost a perfectly good shoe, the bowling shirt I was wearing got ripped, but other than that we survived.

6/27/09 06:10 pm - [Solo Thread for Phase RPG] The Investigation of the Real Estate Agent

Who: Dexter Morgan
Where: Miami, Randy MacGregor’s boat
When: Sometime in July, 2007 in his time line; days after the late afternoon he spent with Ashitaka
Summary: He’s very determined to find out exactly what MacGregor, the real estate agent in question, does with the little boys that go missing. In attempting to think like him, Dexter the Dark Avenger has a hunch that the pedophile liked to explore and experiment with the poor children out on the water.
Warning(s): Contains some adult content, since MacGregor is by no means somebody you’d let him to watch over ANY children. Also, there could be morbid witticism from Dexter’s mindset.

Just doing a routine. Breaking in, sneaking around, and making his best guesses in the secret lair of a suspected killer. )

4/5/09 10:14 pm - Writer's Block: Prison Time

If you were sent to prison for an undefined amount of time, what would you miss most?

Sponsored by “Inside Guantanamo” on National Geographic Channel. Premieres Sunday at 9P et/pt.

It's likely that I won't go to prison, because I'm a citizen working for the Law to catch the bad guys.

However, if I were sent to prison, I would miss, well, everything! My sister, my girlfriend and her kids, the crazy morning rush hour traffic, work, going across the water in my boat...the list goes on and on really.

It's not just one thing I'd miss. Dexter Inna Cage is not where I'd like to be. So, I intend not to spend anytime behind bars the best I can.
